It’s YOUR turn to be a STAR! The Arts Council, Inc. is searching for participants ages 10 and up to compete in the State Farm Insurance “Homegrown Talent Contest” at the Panoply Arts Festival.
The purpose of the competition is to provide participants a forum in which to show off their skills in drama/comedy, dance, or music, in both group and individual categories. This year, for the first time, the contest will feature THREE categories: Junior, Young Adult, AND Adult. These categories include both Individual and and Group options.
A select group of finalists from each preliminary round will be chosen to compete at the State Farm Insurance “Homegrown Talent Contest” Final Round on the SHOWCASE STAGE at the Panoply Arts Festival on Sunday, April 25, 2010.
The preliminary rounds will be held:
· Sunday, March 28—1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Bridge Street Towne Centre (6782 Old Madison Pike, NW)
· Saturday, April 10—1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Bridge Street Towne Centre
· Sunday, April 11—1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Bridge Street Towne Centre
Judging criteria includes (but is not limited to) stage presence, crowd response, time allotment, creativity, and quality of performance. Participants must come prepared to perform for at least 90 seconds. All material must be considered G-rated and family friendly!
Winners who reach the Final Round will compete in the following categories:
Junior Category (10-14 years of age)
Young Adult Category (15-20 years of age)
Adult Category (21+)
Group Category (All Ages!)
