ANNUAL STUDENT BILLBOARD COMPETITION!!

A Panoply Billboard Collage...

...Just one more way The Arts Council combines “Arts in Education” with FUN!

With the help of their teachers, City/County elementary students (grades 1 – 4) in public and private schools, as well as home-schooled students, may enter their artwork each year in contention for one of twenty Panoply billboard spots as determined by a panel of volunteer judges.  A maximum of 5 pieces per grade, or 20 in total, may be submitted per school.  The students’ artwork illustrates the festival and its various aspects through their young but discerning eyes.

The committee selects first-, second-, and third-place winners from each participating school (all such winners will be displayed at Panoply, and these students will be recognized at an awards ceremony during the festival weekend).  At this point, all first-place winners are in contention for one of the twenty available billboards.

The twenty winners will see their creations reproduced on 12’ x 20’ billboard space donated by Lamar Outdoor Ads of Huntsville and observable throughout the Huntsville area beginning in April and continuing through the Panoply Arts Festival (the first ten are up for the first two weeks of April, with the final ten being displayed the two weeks thereafter).  Here are the winners for 2010:
