"JOYFUL NOISE" SHOWCASE!

On Sunday afternoon, April 25, 2010, the Panoply Arts Festival will showcase Alabama talent from various churches, meeting houses, gospel groups, bands, and soloists in the Joyful Noise Showcase, a multi-faith celebration through music!

The Arts Council, Inc. sees the Tennessee Valley as brilliant, and “Joyful Noise” will be a catalyst for celebrating that brilliance, evidenced in many ways, but reflected here through our spirituality as well as our inspired traditions and practices.  The showcase will allow a broader understanding of the many sacred traditions shaping our community, for although we have many differences, our similarities are greater!  Performers at the showcase will include:

  • “Chasing the Light” from First Baptist Church in Gurley, AL—They lead worship every week, playing “a little of the old, a little of the new, and also compose original worship songs.”  This group will perform at 3:15 p.m.
  • Jeremy Kelsey, a native of Gallatin, TN—A graduate of Fisk University (where he toured with the renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers), he serves as Director of Music at Hope Community Church.  Kelsey will perform at 4:15 p.m.

The action all takes place on the Showcase Stage from 3:15 – 5:30 p.m. on the final day of Panoply 2010.  For further information on the South’s Most All-Embracing ARTStravaganza, contact TAC at (256) 519-ARTS, or view the schedule pages on this website.  See YOU at Panoply!
